How much does chemistry tutoring cost?
One-on-one sessions are priced by course level: $125 an hour for regular and honors chemistry, $150 for AP Chemistry, and $200 for college general chemistry. Semester group classes in Fremont are $75 per student per session for honors and college-prep, and $110 per student per session for AP. The first 20-minute call is free. See the pricing page.
What makes a Ph.D. tutor different?
Dr. Sahota taught undergraduate general, organic and physical chemistry at university level for nearly a decade. AP Chemistry is a rehearsal for the college general chemistry course — she has taught and graded that course, so she knows what it is genuinely testing and where students lose points.
Do you tutor online or in person?
Both. One-on-one sessions run online for students anywhere in the United States, or in person around Fremont and the Tri-City area. Semester group classes are in person in Fremont only.
What chemistry courses do you cover?
AP Chemistry, Honors chemistry, regular high school chemistry, and college general chemistry. Biology and earth science are also available.
How quickly can we start?
Enquiries are answered within a day, and most families have a first session scheduled within a week. Start with the free 20-minute call and you will know quickly whether it is a fit.
Is the intro call really free?
Yes. 20 minutes, no charge, no obligation, and no pressure to book. If the honest answer is that your student does not need a tutor, you will hear that too.
What are your hours?
11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, seven days a week.
What areas do you serve in person?
Fremont primarily, plus Union City, Newark, Milpitas, Hayward, Santa Clara and San Jose. Students further afield work online.
What age or grade levels do you teach?
High school students, typically 10th through 12th grade, and college undergraduates in general chemistry sequences.
Do you teach subjects other than chemistry?
Biology and earth science, yes. Chemistry is the specialism.
How do we pay?
Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash.
How far in advance do sessions need to be booked?
Weekly slots are held for ongoing students. New enquiries are answered within a day and most families start within the week. Availability tightens sharply in April before AP exams, and group classes fill before each semester starts.
Can you help with one specific test rather than ongoing tutoring?
Yes. Single sessions before a unit test are common. Be aware that one session can improve technique and confidence but cannot rebuild a missing foundation — that takes weeks.
What makes a Ph.D. tutor different from a college student tutor?
A college student who did well in chemistry can show you how they solved a problem. Someone who taught the university course for years can look at a wrong answer and name the specific misconception that produced it — and knows the half-dozen misconceptions that account for most chemistry failure.
Do you help with college applications or course selection?
Not as a service, but a straight opinion on whether a student is ready for AP Chemistry is always free.
