How this compares
Bay Area chemistry tutoring generally runs from around $50 an hour for a college student tutoring on the side, to $80–$150 for an experienced subject specialist, to $200 and up through premium agencies. A Ph.D. who taught the college course, working directly with families, sits inside that range with no agency margin in between.
The more useful comparison is against hours. A cheaper tutor who needs three sessions to accomplish what a specialist does in one is not cheaper. And if weekly cost is the constraint, the semester class is genuinely the better answer — that is what it is there for.

Why is pricing tiered by course level?
Because preparation time and depth differ. An AP or college session requires more preparation between sessions than a regular high school one, and the rate reflects that rather than the clock.
Is online cheaper than in person?
No. Price follows the course level, not the format.
Is there a discount for buying multiple sessions?
Not currently — one-on-one is billed per session so families are never locked into something that stops being useful. If you want a lower weekly cost, the semester group class is the route.
What does 'per student, per session' mean for the group classes?
Exactly what it says: each student pays $110 (AP) or $75 (honors and college-prep) for each weekly 90-minute session. It is not a price for the whole group and not a price for the whole semester.
What is the cancellation policy?
Ask when you get in touch — reasonable notice is expected but life happens.
